Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Staff Network Security Analyst to join our dynamic and growing organization. You will be responsible for operational support of the corporate firewall and remote VPN systems, performing as a lead investigator when required, demonstrating analytical expertise; close attention to details; critical thinking; logic and solution orientation. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Network Systems.
Job Duties
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot problems involving firewall and VPN access in a multi-cloud vendor environment
- Document technical platform issues, analysis, client communication, and resolution as part of cyber risk mitigation steps
- Collaborate with other Synaptics IT teams on IT projects relating to firewall, networks, and cloud environments
- Assess, evaluate, and remediate the network security posture of firewall and VPN environments
- Develop recommendations to define and maintain network security policies and procedures
- Perform on-going management of global firewall and VPN gateways including configuration, deployment, daily administration, vulnerability patching, and hardware lifecycle
- Participate in change control processes to identify and minimize impact to network security
- Ensure network security projects are delivered with high quality and timeliness
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned network security related projects and initiatives
- Provide incident response support and/or lead incident response actions as appropriate

- The ideal candidate stays on top of security current events and technology and has deep understanding of security architectures and their components, especially Palo Alto Firewall, Fortinet, cloud (OCI/AWS/Azure) and vulnerabilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Palo Alto certification preferred
- 8+ years of experience with Palo Alto (FW & GlobalProtect VPN) & Fortinet firewalls
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network security solutions
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of identity protocols/systems
- Solid hands on experience working with applications and inter-application data flows
- Strong experience and understanding of Windows and Linux environments
- No travel required
