Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Manager, Analog Design Engineering, PMU to join our dynamic and fast-growing Analog/RF design center in Sophia Antipolis Technology park. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate design engineer to join a successful, experienced team working on our next generation WiFi/BT connectivity chips. You will work closely with RF and analog design experts to architect and design state of the art Power management and analog circuits such as Buck converters, regulated charged pumps, LDOs, and voltage/current references. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Development Engineering.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Own PMU design activities within the RF team from architecture definition to design implementation
  • Partner closely with RF and system engineers to define best PMU architecture and power trees
  • Help the team to deliver on time with the required quality level
  • Mentor, potentially lead more junior analog designers

Competencies

  • Expertise in architecture, design, modeling, analysis and simulation of analog and PMU circuits
  • Good understanding of CMOS technologies and associated reliability issues
  • Independent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidance
  • Remain current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education, certification
  • Ability to work with dynamic, multicultural, geographically distributed teams, with the passion to help strengthen the team’s skills by providing mentorship of junior engineers
  • Results oriented and able to solve complex problems through adaptation of existing technology and investigation of new technology to resolve complex problems
  • Analytical and creative problem solver and able to make informed decisions based on experience and data to improve processes and evaluate design options
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex, interactive concepts clearly 

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
  • 15+ years of industry experience in Analog/PMU design
  • Proven experience in designing Switched mode power supplies
  • Proven experience in designing Analog and PMU circuits for deep submicron processes
  • No travel required
