Synaptics is looking for a Staff Digital Design Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-growing Analog/RF design center in the Sophia Antipolis Technology park. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate design engineer to join an experienced team working on our next generation WiFi/BT connectivity chips. You will work closely with RF and analog design experts to architect and design digital circuits such as PLL fractional dividers, RF calibration circuits, digital sigma delta converters, and FSM. Youll also be heavily involved in chip level verification methodologies. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Development Engineering.

Job Duties

  • Lead digital design activities within the RF team from architecture definition, specification to design synthesis
  • Lead digital aspects of verification methodologies
  • Work closely with RF and system engineers to define calibration techniques for the best RF performances
  • Help the team to deliver on time with the required quality level

  • Engineer school or bachelors degree (masters, PhD preferred) in Computer Engineering, Communication or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • 12 years of experience in digital IC design
  • Proven experience in designing digital circuits for deep submicron processes
  • Experience in defining and using advanced front-end design flows based on industry standard EDA tools from system simulation through RTL implementation, verification, synthesis, and interfacing with a backend team
  • Some signal processing background, some understanding of RF analog circuits such PLL and data converters is a plus
  • No travel required
