Synaptics is looking for a Program Manager, Software to join our Video Interface and Human Presence Detection team. You will be responsible for managing programs in SW/FW domains making sure the engineering teams stay synced, productive, and focused on creating the greatest value for the business. Projects will be in the domain of PC video interface and machine-learning based human presence detection. SW/FW runs on Synaptics designed chips. This highly visible position reports to the Sr. Director of Program Management.
Job Duties
Program management of engineering programs from idea to mass production including planning, scoping, design, development, and change management
Lead, track, and monitor cross-functional projects rallying teams around short-term and mid-term deliverables while maintaining the long-term plan
Plan and track execution creating visibility as far as a year out
Champion an efficient, disciplined approach to planning, tracking, requirements gathering, change management and risk management with the use of tools and analytics
Report status of program execution with focus on schedule, risks, and issues utilizing data-based models and indicators
Competencies
Deep knowledge of system software/firmware stack and integration with hardware
Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations
Able to ask difficult but important questions and lead discussion to have them answered
Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability
A highly structured planner with a strong discipline towards pragmatic and efficient processes
Well organized and disciplined with strong attention to data and detail
Able to synthesize and report complex matters simply and briefly for the senior- and executive management
Good verbal and written communication skills (fluency in written and spoken English required)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Electronic Engineering or related field, or equivalent
8 years of experience in SW program/project management
Knowledge and experience in AI & ML preferred (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning)
Expertise in planning tools and methodologies (jira, MS Project; SCRUM, waterfall)
Hands-on technical experience preferred
Occasional travel to the UK, US, or Israel
