Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Systems Engineer, WLAN PHY layer to join our team. The Systems Team offers an opportunity to work in cutting edge, low-power WiFi baseband algorithms. The work involves WLAN PHY baseband algorithm development, system integration, working with RF/CHIP/SW team in validating and optimizing overall WLAN performance. The candidate will work closely with internal teams (RF, software, chip, marketing) to productize WLAN & BT chips for home IoT and automotive markets. This position reports to the Director, Hardware Engineering.

Responsibilities & Competencies 

Job Duties

• WLAN PHY baseband algorithm design & development 
• Work closely with RTL design team in chip bringup and knowledge transfer 
• WLAN PHY & RF Performance tuning and optimization, chip bringup, new feature development and enhancement
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of wireless product 
• Partner with colleagues to optimize solutions

Qualifications (Requirements) 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or related field or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
• Working knowledge of OFDM and C programming 
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of wireless product 
• No travel required
