Overview 

Synaptics is looking for a highly skilled QA Engineer who is ready to take on the challenge of joining our talented team, driving technical excellence, and delivering high-quality AI solutions to our clients worldwide. Our team specializes in developing cutting-edge vision and audio-based applications that revolutionize various industries by enabling capabilities such as human presence detection in the mass production PC market. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering.

Responsibilities & Competencies 

Job Duties

  • Execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for system-level QA of firmware and software 
  • Conduct rigorous testing of firmware to ensure it meets functional, performance, and reliability requirements 
  • Perform system-level testing of software applications, focusing on integration, functionality, and performance 
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution 
  • Evaluate system performance and ensure that firmware and software meet performance benchmarks 
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports 
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in firmware and software, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications (Requirements) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a QA engineer role or similar technical role focused on firmware and software testing
  • Experience with system-level QA for firmware and software and familiar with testing methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed test documentation
  • Experience in testing AI or vision-based applications preferred
  • Collaborative and innovative work culture with opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth 
  • Occasional travel up to 10% may be required for customer site visits and support
