Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Sr. FP&A Manager, Business Unit Finance to join our dynamic and growing organization. Responsibilities will include working with Synaptics business divisions to provide business analysis and decision support for new product financial evaluations, and to develop a comprehensive view of financial metrics & profitability by line of business. Additionally, a strong emphasis of the role will be business partnering, financial/economic advice to business unit R&D and marketing teams. This role requires a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, coupled with expertise in financial systems such as Hyperion, Tableau or Oracle ERP systems. This position reports to the Sr. Director FP&A.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $129,000 - $202,400 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Support Planning Process cadence, including investment analysis, revenue, margin and expense forecasting & variance analysis
  • Create and maintain LOB P&L’s with special attention to changes in pricing and costs that impact profitability goals
  • Analyze project/product investment opportunities - provide recommendations to management in financial context
  • Work with Marketing Product Managers and Engineering Program managers to provide financial support for new product planning to help ensure that the right products with the appropriate ROI are funneled into the development pipeline
  • Provide financial oversight including monitoring operating expenses to ensure spending does not exceed budget and that funds are spent in accordance with company policies
  • Act as business advisor/partner to VP, Sr. Director, Director and other staff for business analysis and decision support
  • Develop and prepare key management reporting including key metrics that provide timely, meaningful and relevant information that will assist management to deliver on objectives
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and periodic reporting as required

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelors’ degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative studies or equivalent
  • M.B.A. in finance, business, or economics preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in financial reporting, financial systems management, or a related role
  • Strong hands-on experience managing financial reporting systems such as Hyperion, Oracle, or similar ERP/reporting systems
  • Proficient with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Track record of analyzing issues and solving problems
  • Strong project management skills
  • No travel required
