Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Staff Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic and growing organization. You will be responsible for overall quality processes at key Synaptics suppliers. A highly visible role with a great opportunity to champion Synaptics customer quality improvement. Strong collaboration with R&D, Operations and Customer quality engineering teams is needed to implement a robust quality assurance process throughout the supply chain for all Synaptics products. This position reports to the Director, Quality Assurance & Failure Analysis.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
Drive our suppliers to deliver best-in-class quality products to our customers
Manage supplier production quality for all Synaptics products, by monitoring existing KPIs and defining new KPIs as needed
Drive continuous quality improvement and define supplier goals to ensure that all the relevant processes meet Synaptics’ high quality standards
Perform regular audits of the PC module component suppliers Ex: PCB, Bracket, Switch production areas and drive findings to closure
Assess supplier performance by generating scorecards and collaborate with them to improve incoming quality and enhance their Quality Management Systems
Ensure long-term quality improvement and implement preventive and corrective actions at suppliers
Ensure that suppliers adhere to and meet all regulatory requirements and are informed about all industry regulations and standards

Qualifications (Requirements)
Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical/Materials Engineering or related field or equivalent
8+ years of experience in a supplier quality management role in consumer electronic product manufacturing
Strong experience in PC modules for Click pads and Touchpads
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Proficiency in quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8-D, Fishbone)
Proven experience in problem solving techniques to accelerate root cause investigation in case of process excursion events and non-conformances
Track record of collaborating across global teams and time zones to facilitate effective communication and alignment with stakeholders at all levels
Ability to travel up to 50% and as needed on a short notice
