Synaptics is looking for a Director, Digital Engineering to join our dynamic and growing WPD organization. You will be responsible to drive the SoC Design in the BT, BLE, 15.4 domain. You will provide technical leadership and expertise in the latest design methodologies as well as Blue-tooth domain. You will handle the design of digital signal processing data paths, host interfaces like UART, high speed interfaces, embedded microcontrollers. You will be responsible to drive innovations in the design flow to improve performance, reduce the area and power consumption. This position reports to the Director, IC Design Engineering. 

Responsibilities & Competencies 

Job Duties

  • Technically mentor and lead a team of engineers on the MCU core, bus-matrix, DMA and peripherals design.
  • Provide technical guidance and foster continuous learning within the team to ensure high-quality digital SOC design/integration, including RTL, SDC integration and relative checks including CDC, nLint, clock/reset/mixed mode/DFT architecture, design and verification.
  • Oversee the chip design flow including the whole chip synthesis, DFT(SCAN/MBIST) insertion, LEC and STA, timing closure.
  • Lead the FPGA synthesis and verification process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead the BT SoC projects
  • Lead the final stage of chip development, including tape-out preparation and execution; handle transition from design to transition from design to mass production.

Qualifications (Requirements) 

  • MS degree in Computer Engineering, Communication or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience in digital IC design and Verilog coding including leading teams. 
  • Familiar with at least one of the followings: computer architecture, MCU peripherals, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • Familiarity with digital IC design flow (design, verification, synthesis, HW/SW co-working) and FPGA synthesis and verification flow.
  • Solid tape out experiences
