Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Principal Program Manager to join our WPD team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in semiconductor design and manufacturing processes, coupled with exceptional program management skills. As the ASIC Program Manager, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept through production, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, verification, validation, and manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ASICs. The successful candidate will play a key project leadership role, acting as the primary owner of SOC program execution on the project planning scheduling, inter-team coordination, status tracking and reporting. This position reports to the VP, Silicon Engineering.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Own end-to-end program management of engineering programs from idea to mass production including planning, scoping, design, development, and change management
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of ASIC development programs from requirements gathering through to final product release, including design, verification, validation, and production rampup
- Work closely with internal engineering teams (ASIC design, firmware, validation, etc.), external partners, and vendors to manage deliverables and ensure alignment on project goals and schedules
- Support the teams in issue resolution and risk mitigation through well balanced and efficient processes leveraging tools and automation
- Actively support sustainable, effective cross-functional communication at multiple levels in the organization
- Analyze technical issues and lead the team in generating creative mitigation options and solutions
- Act as the primary point of contact between engineering, product management, and senior leadership, providing regular status updates on program progress, issues, and risk management
- Monitor and manage the program budget, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints
- Manage relationships with operation team and external ASIC vendors, ensuring that they meet technical and delivery requirements
- Ensure proper documentation of program processes, designs, and decisions throughout the ASIC development lifecycle
- Drive continuous improvement of all processes, methodologies, and systems

Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. A deep understanding of ASIC design, verification, and manufacturing processes is essential.
- 15+ years of experience in Program Management, including 5+ years of expertise in engineering program management.
- Experience in rigorous life-cycle management including capturing requirements, decomposition, architecture, design, unit testing and integration testing among others
- Proven expertise in planning tools and methodologies (Jira, MS Project / SCRUM, waterfall)
- Hands-on technical experience preferred
- No travel required
