Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager for our Process Business Unit. This role will primarily focus on managing customer support projects for Synaptics MPU (Microprocessor Unit) and MCU (Microcontroller Unit) customers and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs). Additionally, the position offers potential for managing platform and technology solution development projects, making this ideal for candidates with experience in both customer support and technical project management. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure the successful delivery of both customer support and development projects, while efficiently coordinating across a multi-project environment. This position reports to the Director, Program Management.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
Lead and manage customer support projects for MPU/MCU customers and ODMs, ensuring successful project execution
Oversee platform and technology solution development projects as required
Coordinate internal and external team efforts to define and refine product specifications and design work, including collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders
Project manage multiple tasks, multiple project efficiently: Make critical, front-line decisions regarding project and task prioritization, align priorities with upper management, and provide guidance to project teams on prioritization
Partner closely with internal Synaptics teams, including Sales, Field Support Engineers, and Development Engineering teams, to ensure that all customer needs and technical issues are addressed
Serve as the key contact for resolving complex technical issues related to MPU/MCU product lines, collaborating with hardware and software teams to ensure smooth project execution
Maintain regular communication with customers, providing updates, managing expectations, and ensuring alignment between customer requirements and project deliverables
Identify risks and obstacles in projects and work proactively to mitigate them, ensuring timely project completion
Continuously drive improvements in the program management process by incorporating feedback from customers and internal teams

Embedded system hardware and software expertise, with a deep understanding of both technical domains
Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a dynamic, multi-project environment
Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
Resourceful and able to solve complex problems through practical application of skill set
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with diverse, cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customers
Qualifications (Requirements)
Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent
5+ years of engineering experience managing customer support projects, platform solution development, or technology solutions for embedded system / IoT industry
Experience with program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Proven track record of solving complex hardware and software issues and coordinating technical teams
Demonstrated proficiency in both verbal and written communication in English
Travel up to 10% within China and to other East Asian countries as needed
