Overview 

Synaptics is looking for smart and talented Sr. Staff Design Verification Engineer to join our Display group in Atlanta. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a large team around the world working to create revolutionary products. In this role, you will be a part of the Display design team which is responsible for developing next generation video interface products. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Digital Design Verification.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $122,000 - $191,400 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. 

Responsibilities & Competencies 

Job Duties

  • Technical leader in Display design team which is responsible for developing next generation video interface products 
  • Partner closely with design and firmware teams to drive best-in-class hardware software codesign 
  • Deep understanding of design specifications 
  • Develop verification environment and components using SystemVerilog/UVM 
  • Lead SoC verification execution and mentor junior team members 
  • Develop test scenarios as per test plan and verify design functionality 
  • Perform Gate Level and Low Power verification 

Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Industry Standard Verification Methodologies e.g. UVM
  • Good understanding of display protocols like DisplayPort, HDMI, USB specification and SoC buses i.e., AHB, AXI or similar buses
  • Good understanding of HVL (SystemVerilog, SystemC), HDL (Verilog), C/C++ and scripts (python, perl, shell)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly to both technical teams and product level teams at the appropriate level of detail
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with dynamic, geographically distributed teams, with the passion to become part of cross-functional teams as necessary to ensure testability
  • Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment to complete projects on time with minimal guidance
  • Resourceful and able to solve complex problems through adaptation of existing technology and investigation of new technology to resolve complex problems
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
  • Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas

Qualifications (Requirements) 

  • Bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field or equivalent 
  • 12+ years relevant industry experience 
  • Track record of building Testbenches from scratch, functional and code coverage aspects, assertions; formal verification knowledge is a plus
  • Hands-on experience using AI techniques for automation of tasks or usage of available EDA AI tools for verification tasks like regression analysis is a plus
  • Strong experience in pre-silicon verification (simulation/emulation) 
  • No travel required
