Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Firmware Engineer, IEEE 802.15.4 to join our dynamic and growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a global team working to create revolutionary products. In this role, you will be working in the Core IEEE 802.15.4 Software team responsible for 15.4 driver design and development to productize cutting edge and best-in-class Synaptics IoT ZigBee\Open Thread \ Matter solutions. This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Develop and integrate firmware for Zigbee\Open-thread solutions
- System level debugging to fix 15.4 controller issues
- Work closely with Systems, ASIC and QA teams for pre-tape out qualification, silicon bring-up, low level hardware bring-up, software development in an RTOS environment, and device driver development
Competencies
- Good understanding of IEEE 802.15.4 Standard /ZigBee/Open Thread/Matter
- Strong programming in C, embedded C, debugging & troubleshooting of uC
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Resourceful and able to solve problems through practical use of technology
- Good verbal and written communication skills, in English
- Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse cross-functional team
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer-Science/Electronics Engineering or related field or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in ZigBee/Open thread/Matter FW development
- Experience working with various communication and control protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S
- Experience with systems analysis, profiling and low-level debugging
- Hands on experience based on IEEE 802.15.4 firmware/hardware.
- No travel required
