Overview 
Synaptics is looking for a dynamic and experienced Director, Sales to drive the growth of our AI Processor business in China. The ideal candidate will have significant experience engaging with Chinese customers in the AI processor market and a strong background in sales leadership, as well as building and driving software algorithm solutions. This role will focus on strategic customer accounts and developing a robust ecosystem for AI processor solutions in China. This position reports to the VP, Sales China. 

 

Responsibilities & Competencies 
Job Duties
  • Own the development and execution of a robust sales strategy to achieve or exceed sales targets for AI processors in China, with a focus on strategic customers in consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial markets
  • Own the development of the processor software algorithms ecosystem to support the growth of AI processor solutions working closely with engineering and product teams to ensure the software ecosystem aligns with customer needs and market trends
  • Leverage deep experience engaging with Chinese AI processor customers, understanding local market dynamics and customer needs, and positioning our solutions effectively
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of sales professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance, including sales training, coaching, and professional development
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in strategic accounts. Ensure a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges, positioning our AI processor solutions accordingly
  • Partner closely with engineering, marketing, and product teams to drive the development and introduction of new products and software algorithms that enhance the capabilities of AI processor solutions
  • Predict sales trends, manage the sales pipeline, monitor progress toward targets, and provide regular updates to senior management
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities, including new verticals and customer segments for AI processor solutions in China

  • Excellent written and verbal communication able to present complex concepts in a clear and compelling way 
  • Experienced at working independently and collaboratively across multiple levels of an organization and with external stakeholders to build successful cross functional partnerships 
  • Flexible and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to find innovative solutions to challenges
 
Qualifications (Requirements) 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent 
  • 15 years of sales experience in with a strong focus on semiconductors, AI processors, or related technology sectors, and experience in engaging with Chinese AI processor customers (with prior sales management experience) 
  • Proven success in driving sales growth, developing sales penetration plans, and executing strategies to bring AI processor solutions and associated software ecosystems into customer platforms 
  • Demonstrated track record of building and driving software algorithm ecosystems that support AI processor growth, ensuring interoperability and scalability
  • Highly analytical with strong business acumen, able to transition easily between strategic and detailed work 
  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is a strong advantage 
  • Travel up to 50% required
