Overview  
The Synaptics WLAN Internship is an opportunity to learn and develop your Wireless LAN and embedded systems skills by working with MAC systems team.  Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their studies in the fall. 
  

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $30.00 - $52.50 per hour. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only. 

 

Responsibilities & Competencies 
Job Duties 
  • This is a great opportunity and right place for the candidates who are interested in building career in Embedded systems in general and wireless communication in specific 
  • You will have an opportunity to work in MAC systems in firmware and closely interface time-critical MAC and PHY features on the latest IEEE WLAN standard specifications 
  • Work on NS3 simulator on enhancing features of Wi-Fi 7 and helping engineering on new protocols for IEEE 802.11bn 
  • Work on algorithms in AI/ML to enhance IoT user experience

  • Real exposure to embedded time critical systems and the tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalism 
 
Qualifications (Requirements) 
  • Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in EECS or CS 
  • Working knowledge of String C fundamentals, Number representation and bitwise operation. 
  • Basic proficiency with scripting languages like C, Python, TCL is added advantage 
  • Able to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction 
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal history 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
