Overview
The Synaptics Internship is an opportunity to learn and develop your embedded software skills by working with Video Interface technology. Our internship is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university and who will be continuing their studies in the fall.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Assist in developing embedded software for a new Video Interface ASIC in the design (pre-silicon) phase
- Support implementation and testing of early-stage bootloader and Root of Trust functionality
- Write and run test scripts to verify basic system boot and security flows
- Collaborate with engineering teams on integration and bring-up of pre-silicon platforms
- Gain hands-on exposure to ASIC lifecycle and hardware-level security features
Competencies
- Basic understanding of programming in C/C++ and Python
- Interest in embedded systems and low-level software development
- Willingness to learn about secure boot, hardware/software interfaces, and ASIC development
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Self-motivated and aptitude to learn quickly
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong sense of professionalism
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Candidates should be seeking a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Familiarity with C/C++ and Python through coursework or projects
- Enthusiasm for working with hardware and learning how chips are developed and secured
- Able to work independently at times and dedicate a minimum of 20 hours/week
- Must be legally authorized to work in the Poland without restriction
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your employment and criminal history
- Must be 18 years of age or older
